Egypt Visa Types

1. Tourist Visa

A Tourist Visa is ideal for travelers looking to explore Egypt’s iconic historical sites, such as the Pyramids, the Sphinx, and the temples of Luxor. It’s typically granted for a duration of 30 days, and it can be extended once for an additional 30 days. To obtain a Tourist Visa, Bangladeshi citizens must provide the following documents:

  • A valid passport with at least six months of validity remaining.
  • A confirmed return air ticket.
  • Hotel reservations for the entire duration of the stay.
  • Proof of financial means to cover your stay in Egypt.
  • It’s recommended to have travel insurance that covers your entire trip.

2. Business Visa

If your purpose for visiting Egypt is business-related, you will need a Business Visa. This type of visa allows Bangladeshi travelers to attend business meetings, conferences, or negotiations. Business Visas are typically issued for a period ranging from 30 days to 6 months, depending on the specific requirements. To obtain a Business Visa, you’ll need:

  • A valid passport with at least six months of validity remaining.
  • A letter of invitation from the Egyptian company or organization you’ll be dealing with.
  • Proof of financial solvency.
  • Relevant business documents.
  • A confirmed return air ticket.
  • Hotel reservations for the entire duration of the stay.

3. Student Visa

Bangladeshi students aspiring to study in Egypt can apply for a Student Visa. This type of visa is granted to those who have secured admission at a recognized Egyptian educational institution. To obtain a Student Visa, you’ll need:

  • A valid passport with at least six months of validity remaining.
  • An official letter of acceptance from the Egyptian educational institution.
  • Proof of financial means to cover tuition fees and living expenses.
  • Health insurance valid in Egypt.

4. Work Visa

For Bangladeshi citizens seeking employment opportunities in Egypt, a Work Visa is required. It is essential for securing legal employment in the country. To obtain a Work Visa, you’ll need:

A valid passport with at least six months of validity remaining.

An employment contract from an Egyptian employer.

Approval from the Ministry of Manpower and Immigration.

Relevant work-related documents.

5.Transit Visa:

For those passing through Egypt to another destination. 

Note for on-arrival visa:

Bangladeshi nationals coming to Egypt will be granted visas on-arrival from the ports of arrival provided that previously they hold valid and used entry visas from the countries: Japan, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, United States, United Kingdom and the Schengen countries on the passports and these procedures are activated from the beginning of April 2022 for a period of one year.

The Application Process

The process of obtaining an Egypt visa for Bangladeshi travelers involves several steps. Here’s a step-by-step guide to help you navigate through the application process:

1. Collect the Required Documents

As mentioned earlier, the required documents vary depending on the type of visa you’re applying for. Ensure you have all the necessary documents in order. Double-check the specific requirements for your visa type to avoid any complications.

2. Complete the Visa Application Form

You’ll need to fill out the visa application form provided by the Egyptian Embassy or Consulate. Ensure that you provide accurate and complete information. Any discrepancies or missing information could lead to delays or rejection.

3. Schedule an Appointment

Contact the Egyptian Embassy or Consulate in Dhaka, Bangladesh, to schedule an appointment. During your appointment, you will have to submit your visa application and all the required documents. It’s essential to be punctual and prepared for your appointment. 

All visa applications of Egypt are processed by Egyptian Embassy. Applications can be submitted on a walk-in basis. The applicant must be present in person during visa application submission.

Other Details:

File Submit: Sunday to Tuesday, 12:00pm to 02:00pm.

Passport Collection: Thursday, between 14:30-15:30.

Information: 9:00am to 3:00pm.

4. Pay the Visa Fee

There is a non-refundable visa processing fee that you must pay when you submit your application. The fee varies depending on the type of visa you are applying for.

  • Visa Fee: Visa fee TK. 8,000
  • Service charge: Tk. 3,000 (Notary and translation charges are additional- if needed).
  • Embassy Processing Time: Total 10-15 Working Days for tourists and 10-20 working days for a business visa.

5. Attend the Visa Interview

In some cases, you may be required to attend a visa interview at the discretion of the Embassy or Consulate. Be prepared to answer questions about the purpose of your visit and your ties to Bangladesh. 

6. Wait for Processing

Visa processing times can vary, so it’s essential to apply well in advance of your planned travel dates. Typically, it takes several business days to a few weeks for your visa application to be processed.

7. Receive Your Visa

Once your visa is approved, you can collect it from the Egyptian Embassy or Consulate. Ensure that all the information on the visa sticker is accurate and matches the details on your application.

Egypt Visa Extension

If you find yourself in Egypt and wish to extend your stay, you can request a visa extension from the nearest office of the Ministry of Interior. The extension is usually granted for up to 60 days.

 

Requirements (Tourist & Business):

 

Personal Documents:

  • Duly filled Application form and signed by the applicant.
  • Current passport (minimum validity for 06 months until the planned date of return and minimum two blank pages and unmarked visa pages) with all old passports. If the immediate previous passport is lost, then a G.D (English) copy for that passport is required.
  • Two recent color photograph sizes (3.5 X 4.5 cm or passport size) with a white background but no cap and no sunglasses. 
  • Marriage certificate (If Family tour). A death certificate copy requires for widows.
  • For Non-Bangladeshi applicants: Bangladeshi Residence Permit valid at least 3 months beyond the intended date of departure from the territory of the Member States.
  • Visa request letter: Letter from applicant name, designation, Passport Number, purpose, and outlining who will be responsible for the full costs of the trip – travel, accommodation, expenses, etc. Addressed to – The Visa Officer.
  • Utility Bill copy.

 

Professional Documents:

  • For Business Person: Trade license (renewal) and company’s letterhead Pad (2 blank pages) require for Proprietorship, Partnership, and limited company.(i) Additional documents for Partnership:  Business agreement/deed copy. (ii) Additional documents for the Limited company:  Memorandum of the article, certificate of incorporation, Income tax certificate, 02 Business visiting card.
  • For Employee: No objection certificate (NOC), GO and note verbal (for official passport holders),02 visiting cards.
  • For Retired Person: Retirement documents.
  • For Student: Student ID card copy, 

 

Financial Documents:

  • Bank statement & solvency certificate (original) with bank seal and signature of last 6 months for both company & personal.

 

Overseas Documents:

  • A letter of invitation from the host organization in Egypt. Moreover, conference registration details must be described in the letter.
  • A letter from your employer stating the reasons for your visit, contact details of the business parties involved, and your employment contract.

Travel Documents:

  • Air Ticket Booking copy: Return airline ticket booking with Passenger Registration Number or Reservation Number.
  • Hotel Booking Copy: Hotel Confirmation or any other documents proving accommodation for the whole period of stay.
